The Plaid Trend

Plaid dress review

The plaid trend has continuously reigned from the fall season to spring and I was excited to finally wore this plaid dress when we went to Mother’s Day lunch last Sunday. Sure, I looked overdressed for it but let the girl feel chic celebrating the biggest women event of the year.

There something in plaids that gives a well polished look effortlessly. Especially of course when paired by a beret, it instantly exudes a Frenchy vibe. Plaids come in different colours and styles, the plaid pants are so in these days although I’m not thinking of getting one but I have an eye on a plaid jacket. While I settled for the classic black and white plaid pattern there are plenty more plaid numbers that are vibrant and eye-catching, remember Clueless Cher Horowitz’s yellow plaid suit. After more than 20 years, this trend is back. I shouldn’t have thrown my plaid mini skirts back then 🙂

On our way to the restaurant, I spotted this wall with grey mural, I thought it would be a perfect backdrop for my OOTD. Because it’s nippy now in Sydney, I have to let go of my OTS dresses and embrace the cold with layers or thicker fabric like this plaid dress. This beret helped me too against stubborn wind and occasional drizzles. And finally, I was using my orchid colour Mulberry Bayswater bag. This is a quintessential British brand just like Burberry which I’m also crazy about.

Lastly, I’m sharing you how my Mother’s Day celebration went. We went to 2 lunches, one on Saturday with mother-in-law and on Sunday with my mum, sis and nieces. These shots were from our lunch with MIL, I couldn’t get enough of my happy bowl and mocha milkshake. The other lunch I had was just chaotic haha, this is what happens when you have a big family but I’m loving them all. I got my favourite flowers from my boys and sweet presents from my nieces.
