I went to Singapore for the first time in December 2012 for 2 main reasons, to stay in Marina Bay Sands and to bring my boys to Universal Studios. Four days were plenty to stop over in this clean and modest city/country and definitely we had so much swimming time in the rooftop pool of MBS (the exact reason why I was kicking my heels to stay in this hotel :)).
The breakfast in the lobby of the hotel was something I recommend, sorry I forgot the name of the café. I just can remember how pleasant the waiters were, indeed service tops the list for me. The hotel’s spa which was right next to the pool was invigorating too, the added vegetation around the edges made the area really pretty and looked refreshing.
Our day in the Universal Studios Singapore was not so great I would be honest, it was an endless and tiresome queue after queue starting from the cable car ride on the way to Sentosa island unto the popular USS rides. Imagine 2 hours of waiting for Transformers ride just for 5 minutes of fun, wasn’t it ridiculous? To adults perhaps but for my kids, it’s an unforgettable and one of a kind experience. My tip if you really want to visit USS is to come on a school day to not compete with the school children who are suckers of theme parks haha.
Aside from these 2 fun stuff we had, shopping was also on the agenda along the shops in Orchard Road and in some factory outlets. I had to eat Laksa in different places since I cook this meal in my kitchen, I was curious to know if my version was comparable to the original :). We moved to Marina Mandarin hotel for the remainder of our stay but nothing beats the view of Marina Bay Sands. See for yourself.
