How can an outfit be trendy and work appropriate at the same time? Well, it happened to me with this plaid jacket that I wore to my office one day. Being in a corporate world, our dress code is smart casual which is really vague and subjective but is fairly understood as decent and relatively modest.
While suits are mostly expected which what I wear too on Mondays and Tuesdays I try to go more hip on Wednesdays and Thursdays to tone down that formal and dressy vibe. I wore this plaid jacket in midweek on those days when I want to feel less conventional and more fashionable. Friday is a mufty day where jeans and sneakers can be seen.
Plaid trend is still occupying the limelight and I was pleased to see this jacket from my favourite online shop as I can wear this both to work and on weekends anytime anywhere. Here, I paired it with semi leather skirt and knee-high boots. I kept it in monochromatic white and black colours with the pops of red from the jacket and my Burberry check bag.
We took these photos in Sydney Botanic Garden, it’s a block away from work and it’s where I always find solitude despite being so close to the city. The different varieties of flowers are always a delight to see and the Harbour Bridge in the distance is an inspiring view. But my most favourite spot is where you can see the contrast of the tall green trees against the modern skyscrapers which can be captured in a single picture.
