Is the wanderlust in you telling you to head down under and stop in Sydney? After arriving at Sydney airport and making your way to the harbour this is one of the sights that will greet you. I snapped this picture while staying in one of the coolest hotel with a breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour.
I’m a local of Sydney and my work is only a few blocks away from Shangri-la Hotel where we stayed for a night in December. But it’s refreshing to act as tourist in my own city or having a staycation on a special occasion or even with no occasion at all.
It was our wedding anniversary and it was a kid’s free day for us although we should have taken the kids as the room was so spacious with an extra lounge area that can be transformed into a sofa bed if you’ve got extra guest. Our room has 3 windows in all with a mixed of harbour and city views. The L’occitane toiletries are an additional winning points to this hotel.
The hotel is located in The Rocks very close to the south end of the Harbour Bridge. We had dinner in Scarlett Restaurant in The Rocks (which I also recommend), I tried to reserve the Altitude Restaurant the day before which is on the 36th floor of Shangri-la but it was fully booked. If you want to try this restaurant book it at the same time you do the reservation of the hotel to make sure. But it made us stroll the harbour where I took these photos. Then we had our dessert at Shangri-la Hotel’s Lobby Lounge.
For an additional $35 pp a full-on breakfast is waiting for you at the Café Mix located in Level 1. The selection is massive, aside from the buffet spread you can also request anything on the menu with no limitation on both food and beverage. How’s this for a table for two by the window?
But if you choose to have breakfast in bed, this is how it would be like.
Before heading home we had a little stroll in the hotel’s courtyard and took these OOTD shots. Hey, this space is fashion and lifestyle blog, I can’t go on without showing what I wore 🙂 I bought this maxi dress in Macy’s Los Angeles back in October. This dress caught my eyes as soon as I entered Macy’s, it’s quite long for me so I wore wedges with it. Must be due to the big breakfast, we forgot the house keys in the hotel so we had to rush back for a good 1 hour back and forth drive to pick it up.
