I admit I’m a bit slack sometimes in looking after my wardrobe. How could I forget I have this unworn cashmere coat lurking in my closet for almost a year now. I originally planned to wear it to my winter getaway in New Zealand but I forgot to pack it. Until 2 weeks ago I attended my sister’s birthday lunch, with no outerwear to wear I was desperate to find something and behold I saw this deep red coat in fine quality cashmere fabric.
It still had tags on it and not yet washed but I grabbed it nevertheless. I always thought this coat wouldn’t give me enough coverage for the cold because it’s light and open but then cashmere is light and I was quite surprised it was really warm. The detachable fur collar gave extra warmth and elegance. I wore a white lace dress to not clash with the colour of the coat and make it stands out even more. I only wish this comes with a belt so I can tie and cinch in the waist. But it doesn’t so I had to wear a slim fit dress to not make me look boxy.
I got this coat from a designer fashion house that was closing down in one of the busy streets in Sydney. It was 70% off and I paid almost $200 but it was really a good steal. I didn’t plan to get another coat that time but if you see such a great deal like that especially in your favourite colour then don’t let it pass up.
Wondering what we did on my sister’s birthday lunch? We had a boodle fight with seafood and all kinds of meat you can think of. It was a really big lunch, surely there’s no need to fight to get a bite if you sit next to me 🙂 We played a game of tenpin bowling with pineapples and coconuts, it was fun but I felt sorry for the pineapples though we ate it afterwards.
