Another floral on floral number and all because it’s Spring season. And this time my family went to the biggest floral display in Southern Hemisphere, a mere 3 hours drive from Sydney. We explored the Australian Capital Territory and had a sleepover in Canberra just because. On our way to Canberra we stopped over in Bowral which also had a Tulip display as seen in my previous post. Now brace yourself for the massive floral display though I tried to cut it and only show a non-redundant shots if I can help it.
It was the last day of Floriade when we went and just when I thought there wouldn’t be much spectators, it was doubled because of the dog show competition. Nevertheless, it was fun and why wouldn’t it be, with over a million bulbs planted the place was bursting with colours.
This is a spectacular feast for the eyes and if you haven’t been to a floral festival you definitely missed an exciting nature exhibition. My mum who has a case of memory loss mostly cannot remember the places we’ve been but she never forgets the tulips and everything in the flower beds.
As I was prepared for this trip I planned to wear a floral dress in one of my current favourite colours, smoke pink. I paired it with white slides because I had to be comfortable with too much walking involved. I got to use my new Proenza Schouler Hava bag, just love the structured and clean lines of this bag.
Canberra is a very small city but full of interesting things to do with nice cafes popping up everywhere. Even the long drive from Sydney and back was not boring at all as there were scenic spots to take a rest and pose for photos. There was even a Canola field that I badly wanted to stop and graze but for some reason we just missed it 🙁 The apartment that we stayed for a night was not bad either, it was so close to the Floriade venue and the view of the lake and the Parliament House was the most winning factor.
